-====Digital Twin Knowledge Base for submarine robot inspection/manipulation==== +====Research assistants (f/m/d)====
-The Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IAIinvestigates methods for cognition-enabled robot control. The research is at the intersection of robotics and Artificial Intelligence and includes methods for intelligent perception, dexterous object manipulation, plan-based robot control, and knowledge representation for robots. +At the University of Bremen, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Prof. Michael Beetz– part of the department Mathematics and Computer Science FB3 calls for applications in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics – under the condition of job release – for several positions in the DFG funded Collaborative Research Center 1320 “Everyday Activity Science and Engineering (EASE):

-As a researcher of the IAI, you actively research by applying and extending the elaborated methods and tools of the IAI (e.g., CRAM, KnowRoB, and openEASEto the uncertainties of limited resources, computation, and sensor data of submarine robots. You develop a Digital Twin that simulates harsh continuously evolving environments and service tasks on real robots. You design a detailed representation of an environment to be inspected, including data coming from past inspections, both similar and different (e.g., transfer learning from an inspection of the interior of an installation). Your research will be especially the environment representation, semantic annotation, and sensor data fusion deal with noisy data and unreliable information in dynamic environments. You work with IAI researchers and engineers of the ROSEN Group, implementing a service for underwater pipeline inspection and maintenance.+**Research assistants (f/m/d)**

-**Prerequisites:** You have a strong background in some of the following fields: +- Salary scale TV-L – 13 (100 %)\\
-  * Digital Twins  +for the period to June 30, 2025.
-  * Knowledge Representation +

-**Hiring institution:** University of Bremen+The employment is fixed-term and governed by the Act of Academic Fixed-Term Contract, § 2 (1) WissZeit VG (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, i.e. temporary science employment act). Therefore, candidates may only be considered for appointment if they still have the respective qualification periods available in accordance with § 2 (1) WissZeitVG.
+EASE pursues an interdisciplinary approach to the principles of human information processing in basic research. Starting from the analysis of underlying problem structures and solution strategies, the development of information-processing models is intended to enable autonomous robots to fully master everyday activities. EASE stands for open research, open data and knowledge exchange. For more information see www.ease-crc.org.

-**PhD Enrollment:** PhD position in the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at University of Bremen. The project involves collaboration with ROSEN in Bremen and UiO in Oslo. +Successful candidates will support the expansion of the EASE central laboratory and conduct research in the following areas:

-The PhD examination acceptance requires a “Certificate of Equivalence for Foreign Vocational Qualifications”.
