The Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IAI) is part of the Faculty of Computer Science at the University Bremen. The IAI is member of the Center for Computing Technologies (TZI) at Bremen University.

Methods based on Artificial Intelligence are major sources of innovative and successful applications in computer science. In many sectors in industrz and daily life the use of knowledge-based methods allows a high potential for added value, productivity and higher quality of life.

Research at the IAI takes place on the two levels of basic research and applied research. Both levels follow three main areas

• intelligent autonomous systems,
• wearable Intelligence and
• production and logistics.

To reach those kinds of intelligence and to embed it in technical systems a broad field of theories and techniques has to be merged
