abstract = {Modern manufacturing is in need of flexible and adaptive concepts for production control to meet market requirements. Knowledge about products and the necessary manufacturing operations has to be handled within production control to enable just-in-time planning as well as reconfiguration of schedules in the case of unforeseen situations, e.g. defect machine tool. In this paper we present a new and intelligent system architecture for the integrated process planning and production control using adaptive agents. The production control within this system emerges from the interaction and cooperation of the agents dynamically.},
